Whipping winds are gone; Nice weather sets in Wednesday

Pleasant weather sets up once again with lighter winds and sunny skies Wednesday. Sunshine will stay strong across the Valley as high pressure remains in control across the area right into the upcoming weekend, according to News10 meteorologist Mellisa Paul.

Highs today will be in the lower 60s. Clear skies overnight and the lack of wind will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s, so frost is a threat for early morning hours Thursday. Take action to protect delicate vegetation.

The good news with Tuesday’s wind is the blustery weather may have dried the atmosphere enough to keep fog from setting up early Thursday. Paul said the moisture will likely not be there to support wide spread low clouds, so hazy conditions should not be an issue Thursday morning despite the lack of wind and clearing overnight skies.

Highs will stay in the lower 60s and lows in the 30s through Saturday.

There are signs that the jet stream (highway for storms high in the sky) will be changing a bit by the end of the weekend.

Clouds may start to increase on Saturday and a very slight potential for rain may move into the North Valley as early as Saturday night into Sunday, said Paul.

Although there are no big storms looming out there, a series of smaller storms will move toward the area next week. These changes will bring cooler temperatures and wet weather for the next 8 to 14 days, with highs likely below normal.
