Manteca police prepare for Training & Skills Challenge Saturday

MANTECA - Manteca Police officers were practicing Friday morning for the popular Officer Training and Skills Challenge on Saturday, May 14. The event, sponsored by the Manteca Police Department, will bring together officers from across the state to compete in a series of motorcyle challenges.

The challenge will take place from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. outside of Bass Pro Shops at 1060 Perimeter Drive. The event is free for the public.

Friday, officers were sharpening their skills in the JC Penney parking lot off of Highway 120 and Union Avenue in preparation for the main event.

This will be the second year the police department will host the event, combining their motorcycle safety fair with the Skills Challenge. Great information about how to ride your motorcyle safely, keep yourself protected and enjoy the summer on two wheels, will be available Saturday. What better way to understand motorcycle safety than to see firsthand how training pays off by watching skilled motor officers on a closed course!

For more information about the event, call (209) 456-8222.
