Tracy Women’s Forum Association Accepting Nominations for the 2013 Women of Tracy

Tracy Women’s Forum Association Accepting Nominations for the 2013 Women of Tracy

The Tracy Women’s Forum Association has a long history of recognizing the outstanding women volunteers that keep our community strong through our Women of Tracy Program.  Each year we honor three women in Tracy who give of themselves to make our city a great place to live.

TWFA will be accepting nominations for the 2013 Women of Tracy Awards December 1, 2012 through January 15, 2013.  This year we are asking the community, those who see the impact our volunteers make to our schools and community organizations in the greater Tracy area, to nominate those women who have made a difference in our community. We invite the public to nominate their outstanding volunteers as candidates for the 2013 Women of Tracy.

2012 Delta Charter Graduate is named NFL All American; finds herself at UC Berkeley this fall:

Delta Charter School’s Sheelah Bearfoot has finished her high school Forensics career in elite company; Sheelah ended the year among the top 25 Academic All Americans recently published by the National Forensics League (NFL).  Students featured in the top 25 earned more cumulative national tournament points than over 120,000 other Speech and Debate students competing in such tournaments nationwide.  While Sheelah’s high school accomplishments are impressive, she is now a freshman at UC Berkeley and her teacher’s at Delta Charter are looking forward to what her future holds.  Sheelah isn’t the only Delta Speech and Debate team member to head off to college or university this past year, however, her spot as an All American distinguishes her achievements as a member of the Delta Charter Forensics Team.

Excellence in the area of Forensics is nothing new for Delta Charter School; for nearly a decade now, Delta Charter High School’s speech and debate team has s

PEARLS Youth Leadership Applications being Accepted

The Tracy Women’s Forum Association (TWFA) is excited to begin accepting applications for our 2012/2013 PEARLS Program for 11th and 12th grade High School Women.

The goal of this two year program is to offer eight young women the opportunity to work with TWFA to develop the skills required to succeed in life and serve their community. The PEARLS program is designed to familiarize students with business culture; give them an understanding of what it means to be part of a team and teach them how to strive & drive for results. They will also gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to become a great leader. The program will teach students skills that will help them deal constructively and adapt successfully to adult life changes. The activities, presentations and workshops will help them get the most out of themselves by challenging their mindsets to work
