Apples are the perfect snack food. They are crunchy, sweet (but not too sweet) and delicious and also chock full of nutrition. Apples are low on the glycemic index which helps stabilize your blood sugar. They are also high in fiber which is not only good for your digestive system, but also helps you feel satisfied. As an extra bonus, apples don't need to be refrigerated and come in their own "wrapping" making them the epitome of a "grab and go" snack.

Heald College Modesto to Host Health and Resource Fair

Fair will offer free comprehensive health screenings and consultations

Heald College Modesto, in partnership with Covered California, the American Red Cross and other community partners, will host a Health and Resource Fair that will address a variety of issues ranging from proper dental hygiene to stress reduction. The event will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 at 5260 Pirrone Ct., Salida, California 95368.

The event, which is open to the public, will also offer at no cost:

·       Free dental cleanings and basic treatments.

·       Free health screenings including checking vital signs, glucose and cholesterol levels, blood
pressure and body mass index screenings.
