Christmas Posadas This Saturday

Christmas Posadas This Saturday

The Christmas season is always a favorite time at the Mexican Heritage Center, 111 S. Sutter, Stockton.  This Saturday, December 20th the annual posadas (a candlelight procession which reenacts Mary and Joseph's search for shelter) starts at St. Mary’s Church (203 E. Washington Street, Stockton) at 5 pm and winds its way through the streets of downtown ending at the Mexican Heritage Center where beautiful nacimientos (nativity) scenes are waiting for all to see.  Mexican hot chocolate and sweet bread will be served. Tamales are on sale for $2 each or $20 per dozen. Bring the family and join this Stockton tradition.

If you can’t make the posadas, the Nacimientos display is on view at the Mexican Heritage Center through December 27.  Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from noon – 5 pm.
