Let's get ready for the Holidays

Really? The holidays are already here? Where did the year go?

Luckily The Home Depot was kind enough to share with us some of their season's highlights. Here's what they had to tell us:

1. Keep Spirits High and Energy Bills Low this Holiday Season: With LED string lights and energy efficient yard décor, even the Griswald family could avoid a sharp spike in the December energy bill. ENERGY STAR qualified decorative string lights use up to 80 percent less energy and last up to 10 times longer than standard incandescent string lights. With a variety of energy efficient options from The Home Depot, your viewers can escape the Nightmare After Christmas – the expensive energy bill.

Also, The Home Depot is making energy-efficient holiday lights even more affordable this year with its Fourth Annual Eco Options Christmas Light Trade-In event, taking place Nov. 3 – 13.  Customers who bring in old holiday lights to be recycled can receive up to $5 off new energy-efficient LED string lights.

2. Three Festive Family Decorating Projects: Incorporate some unique adornments this year and make holiday decorating a family activity. An Associate from The Home Depot can demonstrate three simple DIY projects for families to enjoy this holiday season. Projects include a Christmas Ornament Frame, Christmas Ornament Tree Chandelier and Metallic Pine Cone Centerpiece.

3.  Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!: As the holiday season approaches, so will the great debate of real vs. fake Christmas trees. An Associate from The Home Depot, the world’s largest seller of fresh Christmas trees, can share the benefits of both fresh and fake Christmas trees – and decorating tips for each – to help your viewers find the perfect tree for them.

4. Gift Ideas for the DIYer: The Home Depot has gift options for the special DIYer in the family to fit any budget. An Associate from The Home Depot can share the hottest gift ideas for under $100, $50 and even $20. Additionally, according to the National Retail Federation, more than half of holiday shoppers in 2010 said they would like to receive gift cards. Families can give the gift of choice this year by selecting one of 17 specially designed holiday gift cards.

5. Have a Stress-Free Holiday: With Martha Stewart Living coordinated holiday collections, pre-decorated trees and wreaths, and fresh Christmas tree home delivery, getting ready for the holiday season has never been easier. An Associate from The Home Depot can share tips to help your viewers skip the holiday headache and enjoy a relaxing season this year.
