TRACY – Take 25 is a preventive child safety campaign created by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in honor of National Missing Children’s Day. Annually honored on May 25, this day serves as a reminder to the nation to make child safety a national priority.

The Tracy Police Department will host an old fashion ice cream social at Baskin Robbins for the first annual Take 25 Awareness event. Baskin Robbins has generously donated ice cream at their store at 965 South Tracy Boulevard from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.

Tracy Police and Fire to battle for good cause May 21

TRACY - The first Guns and Hoses Benefit Basketball game will be held on Saturday, May 21, at the West High School Gymnasium, 1775 Lowell Avenue. Members of the Tracy Police Department will take on members of the Tracy Fire Department in a basketball battle to benefit the Drug Abuse and Resistance Education Program as well as the Tracy Public Safety Scholarship fund for local area high school seniors.

The event will include an appearance by the Oakland Raiders Raiderettes, local talent and a raffle of items generously donated by Tracy businesses.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and tip-off is at 7:15 p.m.. Tickets are $8.00 and include a spaghetti dinner catered by DaVinci’s but must be ordered in advance by calling (209) 831-6627. Game only tickets are $2.00 and may be purchased at the door.

The party continues from 8:00 p.m - 10:00 p.m. at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, 715 Central Avenue, with DJ Entertainment, additional small plates, desserts and drinks available for purchase.

Tickets are selling quickly and sell-out is anticipated.
