Scheduled spray areas for Adult Mosquito Control in Manteca

MANTECA - In response to increased adult mosquito populations in several areas of southern San Joaquin County, the San Joaquin County Mosquito & Vector Control District (District) is preparing to conduct adult mosquito control operations.

The district will continue to implement the California Mosquito-Borne Virus Surveillance and Response Plan to protect the public health and welfare. Spray locations and times will normally be available 24 hours in advance.

Residents can access spray information and spray schedules by calling the district at (209) 982-4675 or toll-free at 1-800-300-4675 during business hours from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday through Friday or by visiting the District’s website online at sjmosquito.org.

Due to increased adult mosquito populations and/or detection of West Nile virus, the following areas are scheduled for spraying:

Ground spraying for adult mosquito control using MGK Pyrocide 7396 or Evergreen 60-6 is schedule for the morning of Friday, April 29 between 5 - 9 a.m. or the morning of Saturday, April 30, between 5 - 9 a.m.

- South Manteca/Wetherbee Lake Area in Manteca: North to Wetherbee Lake, south to Williamson Road, east to South Woodward Avenue and west to South Oak Street.

- South Rural Manteca: North to Division Road, south to San Joaquin River, west to Stanislaus River and east to Airport Way.

- San Joaquin River Club in Manteca

Spraying for adult mosquitoes is done near sunset or sunrise with trucks and airplanes when mosquitoes are most active. The district will be using sprayers that apply a very fine mist of material that kills adult mosquitoes on contact. Control operations are contingent upon favorable weather conditions and if canceled, will typically be rescheduled to the following morning or evening.
