Ripon, CA  -   On 08-24-12, at approximately 3 pm, Ripon Police Department detectives conducted a probation search at the Ripon Motel (359 Parallel Ave).  RPD Detective Gordon West located what appeared to be an active credit card fraud ring.  Inside the small motel room, investigators located a fax machine, multiple printers, a computer, lists of credit card numbers and other indicia.  Counterfeit credit cards were located in the room.  Some of the counterfeit cards had the suspect’s names depicted on them.

Methamphetamine and marijuana paraphernalia were located in the room.  A two year old child was located in the room, amid the counterfeit credit cards, and processing equipment.  Child Protective Services was contacted due to the methamphetamine and marijuana paraphernalia being located in the vicinity of the child; and due to the fact that the child was present while crimes were being committed.

Brandon Michael Villanueva (41) of Manteca was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included:  Conspiracy, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, possession and manufacturing of counterfeit credit cards.

Barbara Diane Fernandes (42) of Manteca was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included:  Conspiracy, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, possession and manufacturing of counterfeit credit cards.

Megan Michelle Alvarado (22) of Manteca was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included:  Conspiracy, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, possession of a counterfeit credit card, and for an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Detective Sergeant Terri Jensen said, “The Ripon Police Department will continue to combat crime at local motels through increased motel interdiction efforts.”
