Welcome Home Heroes 'Tenth Panel' in honor of fallen soldiers to be unveiled

MANTECA - The Welcome Home Heroes Traveling Tribute "Tenth Panel" is completed and will be ready for public viewing on Saturday, May 28 at Woodward Park, 710 East Woodward Road in Manteca at 12:00 noon.

The first name on the panel is Army Sgt. 1st Class Duane Anthony Thornsbury from Bridgeport, West Virigina. Sgt. Thornsbury died on September 12, 2009 in Iraq. The last name on the panel is Army Spc. Thomas Adam Moffitt from Wichita, Kansas, who died on October 24, 2010 in Afghanistan.

The Tenth Panel honors local fallen heroes Marine LCpl Gavin Brummund from Arnold who died on June 10, 2010; Army Spc. Cody J. Moore from Modesto who died on August 3, 2010; and Army Spc. John Carillo Jr. from Stockton who died on September 24, 2010.

The image on the tenth panel is that of Damage Controlman Third Class Nathan B. Bruckenthal, United States Coast Guard, who died on April 24, 2004. Bruckenthal is the only Coast Guardsman to have died in combat since the Vietnam War. Laurie Bullock and NoaBeth Bruckenthal, mother and sister of Bruckenthal, will be traveling from the east coast to Manteca for the dedication of the tenth panel on Sunday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodward Park.
