Something Special this way comes

Something Special this way comes

Something truly special is coming to the Brewhouse on November 7 as part of their Rockabilly Cruise Nights. Roddy Radiation's Skabilly Rebels (featuring Lynval Golding for this west coast run.)

Roddy and Lynval played guitar and did vocals for The Specials, the band that coined the term Two Tone and had seven UK Top 10 singles, many of which they will be performing when they play in Modesto. The Skabilly Rebels as the name infers perform a mix of SKA and Rockabilly so put on your dancing shoes and get ready to feel the beat.

One of California's biggest names in Rockabilly, The Chop Tops will be returning and are sure not to disappoint. They have been performing all over the US for 18 years and just completed their 13th full US Tour.

A Night Celebrating the legendary Don Maddox

A Night Celebrating the legendary Don Maddox

In 1937 the Maddox Brothers and Rose started playing music in Modesto, where they recorded for Columbia, Capitol  Decca and other Record labels.

Maddox Brothers and Rose were called the world's most colorful hillbilly band. Fred Maddox (Bassist) is credited in some circles as creating the slap bass technique that defined Rockabilly and early Rock n' Roll.

David Friesen began playing solo bass concerts on a regular basis in 1972 and is one of the pioneers of this art form for jazz bassists.  Friesen's concerts display a wide range of color and rhythmic textures.  There is a "peace in his music" that calms the listener and also the intense energetic passion that captivates all who hear him.
